Women’s Bible study is one of the oldest continuous gatherings in our church’s history. The Women’s Circle gathers monthly for fellowship and bible study and is a member of Presbyterian Women (PW), a national women’s organization of the Presbyterian Church (USA) that exists to build community and affirm women’s calls to leadership. With more than 300,000 members and 25 years as an organization, PW seeks to help women live our their faith in an inclusive, caring community. Our circle meets on the Third Tuesday of every month at 1pm for fellowship, prayer, encouragement and discipleship. To join us, please contact the office.
The Men’s Breakfast is a monthly gathering welcoming men of all ages for fellowship and Christian support. They meet on the third Saturday of every month at 9am to break bread (and bacon!) and to offer Christian Fellowship and Nurture to one another. For details, please contact Bill McCoy.
Dinner Club was founded nearly 75 years ago at Ivyland Church as the Mr. and Mrs. Club and was envisioned as an opportunity for young couples to gather together over a meal and find fellowship and community. At one point in our history the Club boasted over 50 couples—it was the hottest reservation in the Borough!
Over the years, the Dinner Club has evolved to include members of our community of all backgrounds, and currently boasts a membership of nearly 35 individuals who find community, support, and Christian friendship with one another. Gatherings feature a thematic, potluck meal with a guest speaker or other educational opportunity. The club meets on the second Friday of every month at 6pm from September through May; for more details or to sign up for one of our dinners, please contact Jeanne Ditsche.
PUB THEOLOGY
Pub Theology is a national movement that recognizes the need for people to have safe, open spaces where they can explore and express their own doubts and questions, learn from others, and engage people of varying religious traditions.
The format is simple: beer, conversation, and God. Our facilitator brings monthly topics for discussion; those who join us are welcome to bring their questions, their curiosity, and to pull up a chair. Our group is split between members of our wider community and members of the church, but all of us come because we value the power of conversation and fellowship to bring us closer to what is holy and good.
Currently we meet on the Third Wednesday of every month at 8pm. Our next gathering is set for December 19, 2018 at the manse pub and the third Wednesday each month after that! Our gatherings rotate amongst a few locations, so if you would like to join us, please contact Amy Na (724.510.4357) for details.
